Job summary

Sims Lifecycle Services is seeking an experienced EHS Specialist for our Son en Breugel site near Eindhoven. You will ensure safety, health, and environmental standards, with independence across sites. The role collaborates with a quality coordinator and reports to the EU EHS Partner in the UK.

Qualifications

• Higher professional education (HBO) level.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role in a high-risk industrial environment.
• In-depth knowledge of current Dutch legislation and regulations regarding occupational health & environmental management.
• Experience with management systems according to ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO50001, and VCA is a strong advantage.
• Highly independent and responsible, as this is a very autonomous role.
• Excellent social skills; clear communication, pleasant interaction with colleagues and customers—we are looking for a motivator, not a ‘police officer’!
• Excellent written and verbal skills in Dutch and English; the working language within the organization is English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and facilitating the quality management system.
• Promoting safety awareness, including conducting active safety rounds on site, organizing toolbox meetings, and workplace inspections.
• Maintaining risk inventories and evaluations (RI&E) to identify and address potential hazards.
• Advising and coaching the emergency response organization (BHV) and management to ensure a safe working environment.
• Managing and maintaining various certificates, e.g., ISO 9001, 45001, 14001, and Weeelabex, including coordinating annual audits.
• Acting as a sparring partner for management and leadership in decision-making regarding occupational health and safety.
