Job summary

Ore Energy in Amsterdam seeks a pragmatic Hardware Engineer to contribute to the design, schematic capture, PCB development, bring-up and validation of electronic hardware for our Battery Energy Storage Systems.

You will work on control, monitoring and measurement electronics, debug boards, and test hardware in a lab environment, collaborating closely with mechanical and software teams to ship robust storage products.

Strong English communication and hands-on lab skills complete the profile.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on electronics development or hardware engineering experience.
• Experience with schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout using Altium, Xpedition or PADS.
• Solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal design, op-amps, ADCs, sensor conditioning, filtering, decoupling, grounding and protection.
• Proven experience designing hardware for CAN, I2C, SPI, UART (RS-485).
• Hands-on lab skills: debugging, soldering/rework, validation with oscilloscopes & logic analyzers.
• Familiarity with circuit simulation tools LTspice or PSpice; MATLAB/Simulink is a plus.
• Domain experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy or power electronics is advantageous.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test electronic circuits and PCBs for BESS containers.
• Translate requirements into robust schematics and PCB layouts with signal integrity and thermal considerations.
• Develop analog and mixed-signal circuits including sensor interfaces and power regulation.
• Bring-up boards, troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis in the lab.
• Design and validate hardware interfaces for microcontrollers and field devices (CAN, Modbus, I2C, SPI, UART).
• Use circuit simulation tools to support verification and worst-case analysis.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software and components teams to industrialize next-gen storage products.
