Dynamics 365 Technical Lead
Are you the Dynamics team lead who ensures a healthy technical landscape for IBFD and who can ensure delivery of business features? If you can ensure stability, scalability, and velocity, we are looking for you.
IBFD is scaling its Dynamics 365 platform, which has become the backbone of marketing, sales, customer success and finance. As complexity, integrations, and business-critical automations continue to grow, we're looking for a Dynamics 365 Technical Lead who can take end-to-end ownership of the platform's technical delivery and day-to-day engineering landscape.
About IBFD
Established in 1938, the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD), has steadily grown into the world's foremost authority on cross-border taxation and a respected home to collect information about international taxation. Tax practitioners from all over the world rely on IBFD for high-quality and independent tax knowledge and research. As non-profit foundation, IBFD brings tax knowledge to the whole wide world, through publications, training research and data. IBFD is a hybrid organization, with activities in the field of publishing, training, government services and academia. Around 260 employees work in four offices on three continents, from 40 countries, with 800+ external authors and correspondents worldwide.
About Tech & Data
The Tech & Data department serves as the development hub for IBFD and is also responsible for infrastructure and service management. The department comprises approximately 35 employees and external developers that are responsible for development of the Tax Research Platform (TRP), publication workflows, web shop, and online learning modules. The department also supports the development of the Dynamics platform that serves within IBFD as the complete customer fulfilment cycle, starting from an online sales activity to the actual invoice being send. The development team works in close collaboration with the Infrastructure & Service Management team, that is responsible for IBFD's infrastructure and cloud services.
What will you do? Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership – Lead the Dynamics 365 technical direction, ensuring the platform is effectively designed, built, and operated in alignment with business goals and user needs, in close partnership with the Product Manager (WHAT vs HOW). Guide and mentor the technical team in translating roadmap items into robust solutions, proactively addressing dependencies, constraints, risks, and estimates. Drive the evaluation and adoption of Microsoft Release Waves and platform updates, ensuring disciplined regression testing and controlled rollouts to maintain stability and minimise disruption.
- Release Governance & Platform Health – Own the deployment approach (solutions, versioning, branching) and manage ALM/CI‑CD pipelines to ensure predictable, controlled releases across Dev/Test/Prod. Be accountable for production health through incident triage, root-cause analysis, and problem management, driving stability, performance, and technical debt reduction.
- Quality & Security Engineering – Set and enforce engineering quality standards (code reviews, testing strategy, performance tuning, solution layering and documentation) to keep the platform upgrade-ready. Ensure meeting the best practices for security standards towards certification. Embed data governance and compliance-by-design, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation (e.g. GDPR) through strong data quality, security, access control, and auditability.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship – Lead, mentor and performance-manage engineers, while overseeing hiring and onboarding of Dynamics talent (employees and freelancers). Foster a culture of respect, transparency, collaboration and continuous improvement. Embedding knowledge through strong documentation and repeatable practices. Reduce dependency on external consultants by building strong internal capability.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation – Stay up to date with platform capabilities and industry trends, and actively identify and implement improvements to development practices, tooling, and ways of working. Drive incremental improvements that increase team efficiency, platform reliability, and delivery speed.

- Ability to translate product roadmap items into realistic technical delivery plans, aligning with timelines and constraints
- Experience managing technical dependencies, risks, and platform constraints in complex environments

- Experience applying platform governance practices (Power Platform, environments, controls) in a practical and enforceable way
- Strong background in production support, including incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineers, fostering collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement
