Job summary

Centre People Appointments is seeking an Accounting Manager in Amsterdam to take ownership of accounting, tax and reporting for multiple Dutch entities. You will lead a small finance team, oversee monthly closings, consolidation reporting and audits, and ensure tax compliance in a multinational setting.

The ideal candidate holds a professional accounting qualification and is fluent in Dutch and English, with strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS and payroll processes.

A Japanese trading company is currently recruiting an Accounting Manager to join its Accounting Department in Amsterdam. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of accounting, tax and reporting activities for multiple Dutch entities while leading a small finance team within a well-established international organisation.

You will oversee the full accounting cycle, statutory reporting, tax compliance and audit processes, while working closely with both local management and the European headquarters. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, team leadership experience and excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.

Main Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a small accounting team
• Manage monthly and quarterly closing processes and management reporting
• Prepare and review consolidation reporting packages
• Coordinate annual audits and prepare statutory financial statements
• Oversee Dutch corporate tax, VAT, payroll and compliance activities
• Maintain SAP and Exact accounting systems and support finance projects

Ideal Candidate

• Experience managing or supervising an accounting team
• Professional accounting qualification with relevant post-qualification experience
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP, IFRS and Dutch corporate taxation

• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills
• Business-level Dutch and English
• Knowledge of internal controls and corporate governance

Conditions
