ARC’TERYX in Amsterdam is seeking a DTC Merchandise Planner - EMEA to own the financial plans connecting regional demand to inventory, margin and receipts across the DTC channel. You will build integrated Merchandise Financial Plans that translate strategy into seasonal execution, partnering with Demand, Supply, Inventory, Merchandising and Finance teams to keep DTC plans aligned and actionable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 3–5+ years in Merchandise Financial Planning, Financial Planning, or Demand Planning, preferably in a DTC or omnichannel retail environment.
  • Hands-on experience in sales, margin, and inventory planning.
  • Strong understanding of top-down and bottom-up planning methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of retail KPIs.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
  • Experience with planning tools such as o9, Blue Yonder, Anaplan, Oracle (preferred).
  • Experience sharing specialized knowledge to support team growth and build capability.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain fiscal and seasonal DTC merchandise financial plans by week (sales, margin, inventory, receipts).
  • Manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) and ensure alignment with regional targets.
  • Run scenario analyses to identify risks and opportunities ahead of time.
  • Collaborate with Demand, Supply, Inventory, Merchandising, FP&A, and Commercial teams to align top-down and bottom-up plans.
  • Translate demand signals to inventory and margin implications for the region.
  • Conduct weekly trading reviews and recommend actions to maximize performance.
  • Own key merchandise planning KPIs like sales, gross margin, inventory turnover, markdowns.
  • Prepare and present planning recommendations and risk assessments to senior stakeholders.
  • Develop scenario and risk frameworks to anticipate shifting business conditions.
  • Strengthen cross-functional partnerships linking regional planning to global supply and demand.

You build and maintain integrated Merchandise Financial Plans that translate strategy into seasonal execution, partnering closely with Demand, Supply, Inventory, Merchandising, and Finance teams to keep DTC plans aligned and actionable. Meet Your Future Team

The Merchandise Planning - EMEA team translates regional targets into merchandise financial plans, driving alignment between top-down direction and bottom-up regional builds. The team leads integrated planning across sales and inventory, managing trade-offs between revenue, margin, and working capital while proactively anticipating risks to course-correct ahead of business impact through managing open-to-buy. Working closely with DTC teams and other cross-functional partners, the team positions inventory effectively by channel, supports replenishment and inventory flow decisions, and drives aligned decisions that support growth, profitability, and customer experience.

  • Building and maintaining fiscal and seasonal DTC merchandise financial plans, including sales, margin, inventory, and receipt plans by week
  • Managing Open-to-Buy (OTB) and ensuring alignment with regional inventory targets throughout the season
  • Running scenario analysis to identify risks and opportunities ahead of time, enabling the business to react with speed and confidence
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Merchandising, FP&A, and Commercial teams to drive alignment between top-down and bottom-up plan builds
  • Connecting demand signals to inventory and margin implications, translating financial plan outputs into clear, actionable insights for the region
  • Conduct weekly trading reviews, identifying risks and opportunities across sales, inventory productivity, sell-through, and margin, recommending actions to maximize commercial performance
  • Own and monitor key merchandise planning KPIs including sales, gross margin, inventory turn, and markdown performance
  • Prepare and present planning recommendations, performance updates, and risk assessments to senior stakeholders
  • Developing scenario and risk frameworks that strengthen the region's ability to anticipate and respond to shifting business conditions
  • Building deeper cross-functional partnerships that connect regional merchandise planning more tightly to global supply and demand decisions
  • You have a bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
  • You have 3-5+ years of experience in Merchandise Financial Planning, Financial Planning, or Demand Planning, preferably in a DTC or omnichannel retail environment
  • You have hands‑on experience in sales, margin, and inventory planning
  • You have a strong understanding of top-down and bottom-up planning methodologies
  • You have a strong understanding of retail KPIs
  • You have advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
  • You have strong data analytics and visualization capability, with the ability to translate large data sets into clear insights and recommendations
  • You have experience with advanced planning tools such as o9, Blue Yonder, Anaplan, Oracle (preferred)
  • You have experience in sharing specialized knowledge to support team growth and build capability within your area
