Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Downstream Sales Manager in the Netherlands to drive strategic growth in refining and chemical markets. You will build relationships with senior customer stakeholders and lead complex sales cycles across multinational accounts.

You will develop and execute sales strategies, manage portfolio performance, and collaborate with product, technical, operations and commercial teams to deliver value and profitability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in refining, petrochemical, industrial water treatment, or downstream chemical operations.
  • Experience in downstream refining sales and customer relationship management.
  • Proven track record of delivering sustainable top‑line and bottom‑line growth.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including portfolio P&L management.
  • Experience developing/executing sales strategies across complex organizations.
  • Understanding of customer requirements, market dynamics and industry trends.
  • Experience managing complex sales opportunities with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to influence executives.
  • Collaborative, stakeholder management and cross‑functional teamwork.
  • Willing to travel up to 50% for customer engagement and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical sales plans to drive growth across assigned territories.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders at corporate and refinery levels.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
  • Manage complex sales cycles with multiple decision‑makers, technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Lead customer engagement activities to support long‑term partnerships and retention.

Key Responsibilities

Fuel Your Passion
  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
  • Have experience in refining, petrochemical, industrial water treatment, or downstream chemical operations.
  • Have experience in downstream refining sales and customer relationship management.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering sustainable top‑line and bottom‑line growth.

  • Have a strong commitment to customer service and delivering business results in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Preferred to have experience in refining, midstream, specialty chemical sales, or related downstream chemical applications.
  • Preferred to have experience engaging and selling at executive and C‑suite levels within large global organizations.
  • Preferred to have experience negotiating commercial agreements in downstream, refining, or midstream markets.
  • Preferred to have experience managing strategic multinational customer accounts.
  • Preferred to have a strong understanding of refining operations, petrochemical processes, and industrial chemical applications.
