Job summary

Baker Hughes in the Netherlands is seeking a Lead Procurement Specialist (Experienced Buyer) to manage the buying process for a defined set of goods and services. You will apply sourcing policy, interface between suppliers and the entity, and ensure on-time delivery within budget.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in sourcing/procurement in energy or tech sectors, fluency in Dutch and English, and hands-on experience with SAP or Oracle. It offers a one-year contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in sourcing/buying/procurement in oil & gas or energy/tech industries.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred with technical background.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Training or experience with contracts/templates.
• Experience with SAP or Oracle is essential.
• Leading procurement activities and decision making.
• Ability to work independently and self-drive tasks.

We manage the buying process and engage in commercial sourcing management in order to achieve the best contractual conditions and best results for company.

As a Procurement Specialist you will manage the buying process for a given set of goods and services. You will apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.

As a Procurement Specialist you will be responsible for:

• Taking care of RFQ`s and contacting suppliers for getting the competitive quotations
• with understanding of the contents and applications.
• Placing and following -up on Purchase Orders (PO) and manage relationships with suppliers for PO execution with best value.
• Keeping Ontime delivery of required Goods and Services and monitoring the status
• Detecting and signalling flaws in approaches, methods, procedures and processes and suggests improvements.
• Taking care of contract negotiation, renovation and discussion with suppliers and contract management.
• Managing supplier relationships to understand the business, gather market intelligence, assess risk and ensure compliance to KPIs
• Handling communication with colleagues and the business about data gathering and analysis.
• Managing problems and scheduling changes and find the solutions
• Reporting the supplier performance and any non-Conformity cases
• Processing and taking care of Suppliers` invoices and any required rectification
• Understanding the content of purchased items and preparing the comparison tables to find the best value.
• Working with the stakeholders and supporting them in project milestones and alternatives as well as options
• Working on capex PO`s and having some knowledge of equipment specifications & assets

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience gained in the sourcing/ buying/ procurement min. 5 years in Oil & Gas or Other energy sector or technological industries.
• Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred with technical background.
• Be fluent in Dutch and English language. Other languages is pre.
• Some Experience or adequate training on Contracts/ Agreement templates
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and an ability to build trusting relationships with customers and suppliers
• Have experience with SAP or Oracle is essential.
• Leading procurement activities and bringing to the decision making.
• Working independently and self-driving tasks and responsibilities.
