Job summary

Fluor Corporation is seeking a Director, Contract Management for future opportunities. This contingent role will lead contract management activities from pre-award through post-award and closeout on large EPFC/EPFCM projects, ensuring compliance with the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Project Procedures Manual (PPM).

The ideal candidate has at least 15 years of relevant experience, exceptional English communication skills, and willingness to travel to project locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Law, Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in contract or commercial management with leadership on large capital projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all contract management activities from pre-award through post-award and closeout in line with PEP and PPM.
  • Direct contract management for large EPFC/EPFCM projects.
  • Develop, approve, and implement contract and sourcing strategies to meet objectives.
  • Oversee preparation, evaluation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout of contracts.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of RFP packages and contractual documentation.
  • Manage interfaces with Project Management, Construction, Project Controls, Quality, Safety, Finance, Procurement, and Client representatives.
  • Oversee claims management, back-charge administration, and dispute avoidance activities.

Job Description

Fluor is seeking a Director, Contract Management for future opportunities.

Contingent Position

This requisition is being maintained to identify potential candidates for future opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee all contract management activities from pre-award through post-award and contract closeout in accordance with the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Project Procedures Manual (PPM).
  • Direct contract management activities for large engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction/construction management (EPFC/EPFCM) projects.
  • Develop, approve, and implement contract and sourcing strategies that support project and business objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation, evaluation, negotiation, award, administration, and closeout of contracts.
  • Ensure the quality and completeness of Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and contractual documentation.
  • Protect Fluor's interests by identifying and mitigating contractual and commercial risks, enforcing warranty provisions, and providing guidance to project contract management teams.
  • Review and approve contract awards within delegated authority limits.
  • Provide regular reporting to project, department, and company leadership regarding contractual performance, risks, opportunities, and overall project health.
  • Develop and maintain contract management staffing plans to support successful project execution.
  • Manage interfaces and collaboration with Project Management, Construction, Project Controls, Quality, Safety, Finance, Procurement, and Client representatives.
  • Oversee claims management, back-charge administration, and dispute avoidance activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Contract Management function.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of negotiation strategies throughout all contract phases.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for contract management and commercial matters.
  • Lead functional improvements and drive best practices across contract management activities.
  • Implement contract management processes aimed at minimizing disputes and avoiding claims.
  • Support the development of project-specific Contracting Strategies.
  • Participate in and lead contract management audits, reviews, and assessments.
Basic Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or global equivalent, in Business, Law, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in contract management, commercial management, or a related field, including leadership responsibilities on large capital projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel and work at project locations when required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience developing and negotiating contract terms and conditions for professional services, engineering, construction, and industrial contracts under lump sum, unit price, and reimbursable compensation models.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracting principles, risk management practices, and legal terms and conditions.
  • Experience leading the development, administration, and management of multi-million euro (or equivalent) contracts and procurement activities on large industrial projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction project delivery environments.
  • Proven ability to structure and administer a variety of compensation arrangements, including reimbursable cost, lump sum, and unit price contracts.
  • Experience in change management, claims evaluation, claims resolution, and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience developing project-specific contract terms and conditions through the effective flow-down of prime contract requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement contract strategies that support successful project execution and risk mitigation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and influence stakeholders across multiple project disciplines and organizational levels.
