Job summary

MSD Nederland seeks a Director Bioprocess Technology Solutions (Site Support) to lead the BTS team across Boxmeer, De Bilt, and Cologne, driving technology support from issue resolution to process improvements and site-wide transfers. The role interfaces with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to ensure robust product supply and ongoing innovation.

The candidate will guide strategy, development, and deployment of new technologies while managing a 25-person team and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of relevant experience in viral cell culture, fermentation, downstream processing, purification, and vaccine formulation.
• Experience leading complex technical and organizational work in a regulated environment.
• Experience managing managers and teams, developing talent, and coaching employees for growth and succession.

Responsibilities

• Lead BTS team (~25 employees) and site activities for Boxmeer, De Bilt, and Cologne.
• Direct process improvement for the existing vaccine portfolio.
• Align site activities with global BTS strategy and priorities.
• Drive improvements in upstream, downstream, and formulation processes.
• Support technology transfers from R&D to manufacturing and site-to-site implementations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and EHS requirements.
