Job summary

Corendon Hotels & Resorts in the Amsterdam area is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie to support the Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations and to ensure guests enjoy high‑quality culinary experiences.

You will work in vibrant hotels such as Corendon Hotel Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Corendon Amsterdam Nieuw-West, with a strong focus on teamwork, service, and guest satisfaction. This role offers full‑time stability and a dynamic, international work environment.

Qualifications

• You have a passion for cooking and a broad knowledge of dishes.
• You are service‑minded, hospitable and socially engaged.
• You work well both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of dishes for room service, The Bar, breakfast service, and staff meals.
• Support the Chef de Partie in organising daily activities within your section.
• Ensure proper mise-en-place and contribute to a smooth service.
• Maintain attention to presentation and service standards in an open kitchen concept.
• Build positive relationships across kitchen and other departments in line with our CORE values: Open, Honest & Respectful.
• Ensure HACCP compliance and food safety standards.
• Identify improvements and contribute new dish ideas and methods.
• Assist other kitchen sections when needed.
• Carry out additional duties to maximise guest satisfaction and business opportunities.

What does the role involve?

As a Demi Chef de Partie, you will support the Chef de Partie in the daily kitchen operations and help ensure that our guests enjoy high-quality culinary experiences.

Your responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and cooking of dishes for room service, The Bar, breakfast service, and staff meals;

• Supporting the Chef de Partie in organizing and coordinating daily activities within your assigned section;

• Ensuring proper mise-en-place and contributing to a smooth and efficient service;

• Due to our open kitchen concept, being service-oriented and paying extra attention to the presentation of both yourself and your work environment;

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues within the kitchen and across other departments by embracing our CORE principle: Open, Honest & Respectful;

• Ensuring compliance with HACCP procedures, food safety regulations, and quality standards;

• Identifying opportunities for improvement and contributing ideas for new dishes, presentations, and working methods;

• Assisting other kitchen sections when operationally required;

• Carrying out additional duties assigned by the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to maximize guest satisfaction and business opportunities.

• You have a passion for cooking, solid all-round knowledge of various dishes, and you can’t wait to showcase your talents in the kitchen;

• You are service-oriented, hospitable, and socially engaged;

• You work well independently as well as in a team;

• You can identify problems, recognize important information, and make connections. You track down possible causes and come up with concrete solutions.
