Job summary

PostNL is seeking a Data Governance Manager to lead the Federated Data Governance Operating Model and transform data into a strategic asset across the organization. You will drive adoption, embed governance practices and advise senior stakeholders, shaping enterprise-wide governance capabilities.

You will work with Data Owners, Data Stewards and IT stakeholders in the Data Foundations department, delivering governance that enables data-led decision making and compliance across PostNL.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Data Governance or Data Management.
• Experience implementing governance frameworks and operating models.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata management, data ownership and MDM.
• Experience facilitating workshops and leading organizational change.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

Your role

PostNL is establishing a Data Center of Excellence (CoE) to strengthen enterprise-wide data management capabilities and ensure data is treated as a strategic asset. As part of this transformation, Enterprise Data Management is implementing a Federated Data Governance Operating Model that enables business domains to take ownership of their data while maintaining consistent governance standards across the organization.

As a Data Governance Manager, you lead the adoption and continuous improvement of this governance model. You translate enterprise data strategy, governance frameworks, policies and standards into practical ways of working. You help business domains establish governance structures, clarify ownership responsibilities and embed sustainable governance practices into daily operations.

You act as a trusted advisor to business and technology leaders, facilitate workshops, guide governance decision‑making and resolve complex data management challenges. You drive initiatives related to data ownership, data quality, metadata management, master data management, data products, privacy and regulatory compliance. Through your leadership, you help create a culture where data is managed consistently, responsibly and effectively across PostNL.

Your colleagues

You will join the Data Center of Excellence within the Data Foundations department. This team focuses on strengthening data management capabilities across PostNL and supports business domains in increasing their data maturity. You will work closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, Product Owners, architects, platform teams and IT stakeholders. Together, you will build a strong data‑driven organization and continuously improve enterprise data management practices.

The benefits of your position are:

• Salary between €4.588 and €6.498 gross per month based on a 37‑hour workweek.
• Working 32 hours per week is also possible.
• Hybrid working and flexible working hours.
• A home‑working allowance of €45 net per month when working from home more than two days per week.

You also have the following qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management or a related discipline.
• Experience implementing governance frameworks and operating models in complex organizations.
• Strong knowledge of data management disciplines such as Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Ownership and Master Data Management.
• Experience facilitating workshops and leading organizational change initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
