Job summary

Levy Global is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with leadership flair to join a Dutch financial services client. The role blends hands‑on data engineering with people leadership, forming a new chapter and guiding its growth. Hybrid work includes 1–2 days in the office weekly.

You’ll mentor data professionals, drive performance and help shape standards while staying close to the technology stack and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Strong background in data engineering and DWH concepts.
• Experience in a DevOps environment and cross‑functional teams.
• Proven coaching, mentoring and people development skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proactive, continuous improvement mindset with leadership potential.
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coach and support team members in their personal and professional growth.
• Drive performance, growth and career development within the chapter.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and performance reviews.
• Foster a healthy, inclusive, high‑performing culture across the data community.
• Shape the chapter’s vision, standards and ways of working.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration beyond the chapter.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and other Chapter Leads.
• Stay hands‑on and contribute technical expertise in a DevOps setting.
• Keep up to date with developments in data engineering and share knowledge.
