Job summary

Adaptfy is seeking a Data Engineering Manager in Amsterdam with 5-8 years of experience to lead the data engineering and analytics team. You will drive end-to-end data pipeline development, collaborate with data scientists, and guide cloud-based architecture and best practices.

You will work with senior stakeholders to deliver data platforms, dashboards, and insights, shaping the data-driven strategy for the SHV family of companies across markets.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in a similar role with Azure ETL
• Solid knowledge of data warehousing concepts (ODS, data marts, data lakes, data vault, 3NF)
• Good understanding of digital development platforms, cloud setups, CI/CD workflows
• Experience in automated testing frameworks (unit/integration tests)
• Understanding of modern cloud architectures (Lambda & Kappa)
• Advanced SQL, data transformation and data profiling
• 3-5 years hands-on Azure: Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Azure Functions, streaming
• Experience with Airflow, Kubernetes, Great expectations is a plus
• Programming languages: Python (PySpark)
• PowerBI a plus
• Customer-centric and collaborative mindset
• Strong engineering craftsmanship mindset
• People management of small teams
• Experience in service consulting and stakeholder management
• Comfortable with ambiguity and autonomous work
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Math/Engineering/OR/Statistics (Master's a plus)

• Lead the technical roadmap for clients and internal teams
• Oversee Architecture to ensure components meet customer needs
• Lead and develop the digital development and operations using Python, Spark, RESTful API and Azure
• Steer technical excellence and alignment with digital standards
• Coach and enable team members to deliver high-quality products
• Deliver data platforms, data insights and dashboards with data science collaboration
• Lead project activities and evaluate business needs with stakeholders
