Data Engineer — Energy Data & Cloud Platforms

Job summary

Everience is supporting a client in the Dutch energy sector by hiring a Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that enable data-driven decision making for the energy transition.

You will work with modern cloud and data technologies and collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects, Product Owners and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust data solutions, ensuring quality, security and performance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Experience within the Dutch energy, utilities, renewable-energy or infrastructure sector.
• Strong knowledge of Python and SQL.
• Experience with Azure or another major cloud platform.
• Experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse or Snowflake.
• Understanding of data modelling, data quality and data governance.
• Experience working in Agile and/or DevOps environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Relevant cloud or data-engineering certifications are a plus, particularly Azure, Databricks or cloud-data-platform certifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes and data integrations.
• Transform complex datasets into reliable and reusable data products.
• Build and maintain cloud-based data solutions.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, security and performance.
• Work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, Architects and other engineering teams.
• Contribute to data-platform modernisation and cloud migration projects.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices.
• Help establish and improve data-engineering standards and best practices.
