Job summary

Sia in Amsterdam is seeking a Data Engineer consultant to join our growing Data Science team. You will work on client projects and help build Sia AI solutions alongside our French Data Engineering team, in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.

You will design cloud architectures (GCP/AWS/Azure), containerize with Docker and Kubernetes, develop Python tools, and implement CI/CD, data pipelines, and ML-ready infrastructure; English and Dutch communication is required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a strong quantitative component.
• 1–3 years of experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud or Software Engineering.
• Strong Python skills; solid foundation in at least one SQL DBMS (prefer PostgreSQL) and ideally NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Familiar with one cloud platform (GCP/AWS/Azure) and multi-service projects.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD, and interest in Kubernetes and IaC tools like Terraform.
• DevOps mindset, code lifecycle ownership, and Gitlab-CE knowledge.
• Excellent English and Dutch verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Work on client projects and build Sia AI solutions with the Data Engineering team.
• Design cloud architectures (GCP, AWS, Azure) and manage services, IaC, cost optimization.
• Containerize apps with Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes for data workloads.
• Develop Python tooling for data processing and REST APIs, and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop ETL/data pipelines in Big Data environments and ML infrastructure.
