Job summary

Sia in Amsterdam is seeking a Data Scientist/Engineer to join its growing Data Science team. You will drive data pipelines, cloud deployments and DS tooling in a DevOps culture, collaborating across disciplines to deliver client solutions.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree with a strong quantitative background, 1–3 years of relevant experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and fluency in English and Dutch. Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD and IaC is a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Econometrics, Physics, Mathematics).
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud or Software Engineering.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; familiarity with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS or Azure) preferred.
• Proficient with Docker, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code concepts (Terraform).
• Excellent English and Dutch written and spoken skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and build data pipelines and ETL scripts in Big Data environments.
• Develop server-side tools and REST APIs in Python; support data platforms.
• Containerise workloads with Docker and manage Kubernetes clusters for DS workloads.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and maintain IaC for deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate across teams to enable data-driven decision making for clients.
