Job summary

Sia Partners in Amsterdam is seeking a Data Engineer Consultant to join our growing Data Science team and work on client projects as well as our own Sia AI solutions.

You will develop Python-based tools, build data pipelines, and containerize applications with Docker while orchestrating Kubernetes clusters for DS workloads. Excellent English, Dutch and French verbal and written skills are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with a strong quantitative component (e.g. econometrics, physics, mathematics, statistics).
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud or Software Engineering.
• Strong Python skills and solid grounding in other languages; familiarity with PostgreSQL and ideally MongoDB.
• Experience with at least one cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) preferred; appetite to learn more.
• Comfort with Docker, CI/CD, and Kubernetes; code lifecycle ownership from development to deployment.
• Security-minded with experience in certificate management, HTTPS, OAuth2.

Responsibilities

• Work on client projects and build Sia AI solutions with the French Data Engineering team.
• Design and optimize cloud architectures, storage, compute, IaC and cost monitoring.
• Develop server-side Python tools, ETL scripts, and data pipelines in Big Data environments.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage Kubernetes clusters for DS workloads.
• Contribute to CI/CD and deployment of Data Science projects on client sites.
• Engage in data security practices and collaborate across teams with excellent communication.
