Job summary

Liberty Global is seeking an Employee Relations Manager in Amsterdam to support People Business Partners across the UK and the Netherlands. The role focuses on end-to-end ER casework, providing clear guidance, templates and pragmatic risk handling while ensuring compliance and timely resolutions.

You will build scalable ER processes, deliver one-page playbooks, and partner with Legal and Reward to align policies. This role reports to the People Director and supports leaders across the business.

Qualifications

• ER case management experience in a complex, fast-paced or multi-country organisation.
• Commercial judgement focused on enabling fast, practical outcomes.
• Strong client-service mindset; translate complexity into plain-English guidance.
• Knowledge of UK and Dutch employment law and ER best practice.
• Experience handling high-risk, sensitive, and complex ER matters with sound judgement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and service-led approach.
• Strong investigation skills with planning, interviewing and documentation.
• Coaching skills to upskill managers and People teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset; simplify processes and tooling with templates.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive ER cases across the UK and NL end-to-end, from issue to resolution.
• Advise PBPs with commercial recommendations and pragmatic risk management.
• Coach leaders to handle issues earlier and proactively.
• Lead investigations, hearings and appeals with fairness and documentation.
• Own ER content for UK and NL: simple, standardised one-page guidance.
• Collaborate with Legal and Reward on policy governance and sign-off.
• Partner with Legal for higher-risk matters and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Translate Wet Verbetering Poortwachter obligations into practical guidance.
• Design training and bite-sized tools to improve consistency and speed.
• Use ER data and stakeholder feedback to identify themes and improve service.
