Job summary

Prysmian Group in Eindhoven is seeking a Commodity Buyer Non Raw Materials (FIB) to manage day-to-day purchasing of indirect materials and services. You will collaborate with operations, supply chain and finance to optimize total cost of ownership and drive continuous improvement.

You will analyze data, negotiate contracts in SAP, and ensure supplier performance meets quality standards while supporting stakeholders with purchasing policy adherence in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Professional proficiency in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
• 3+ years purchasing experience required; manufacturing background preferred.
• Experience with Capex, MRO, machinery and facility management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of P2P processes to improve efficiency and remove low value tasks.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with cross-functional communication.
• Ability to involve stakeholders in resolving issues and shaping plans.

• Assist in assessing supplier products to ensure specifications and quality standards.
• Collect purchasing data and provide reporting.

Overview

We are seeking a Commodity Buyer Non Raw Materials (FIB) for our Eindhoven location to succeed our current Commodity Buyer, who is retiring. The Commodity Buyer will be responsible from day to day purchasing activities of Indirect Materials and Services category. The ideal candidate always sees the glass as half full and focuses on solutions with a positive and constructive attitude. As the Plant Buyer your new role will be highly visible in an important market to the company. You will be responsible for working across multiple work teams to include operations, supply chain, finance, quality and HSE to prepare proposals, quotes, and agreements that will ensure minimum total cost of ownership. In this position you will also apply continuous improvement methods to reduce the overall costs of the commodities you support. You’ll use your ability to prepare and analyze data to create a case for savings.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day operational purchasing activities for indirect materials and services.
• Identify, research, and evaluate suppliers based on the organization’s requirements for cost, quality, delivery, and supply reliability.
• Negotiate local sourcing contracts. Create and update sourcing contracts in SAP.
• Enter and follow up of orders in the SAP system.
• Supplier performance evaluation.
• Communicate with suppliers to solve problems with the timelines or quality of supplies.
• Support the Assessment of supplier’s products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards.
• Collect purchasing related data and provide reporting.
• Advise stakeholders on purchasing procedures.

Qualifications:

• Professional proficiency in both spoken and written Dutch and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing – required. Preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Experience in the areas of Capex, MRO, Machinery, Facility Management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of P2P process for improving the efficiency by implementing best practices and eliminating low value added tasks,
