Job summary

Prysmian in the Netherlands is seeking a Commodity Buyer (Indirect Materials) at our Eindhoven site. You will manage day-to-day purchasing, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts, working across operations, supply chain, finance, quality and HSE.

Qualifications

• Professional proficiency in both spoken and written Dutch and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing – required. Preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the areas of Capex, MRO, Machinery, Facility Management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in SAP, Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of P2P process for improving efficiency by implementing best practices.
• Able to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use information from internal and external sources.
• Ability to communicate effectively across functions and generate results.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational purchasing activities for indirect materials and services.
• Identify, research, and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and reliability.
• Negotiate local sourcing contracts. Create and update sourcing contracts in SAP.
• Enter and follow up of orders in the SAP system.
• Supplier performance evaluation.
• Communicate with suppliers to solve problems with timelines or quality.
• Assess suppliers’ products to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
• Collect purchasing data and provide reporting.
• Advise stakeholders on purchasing procedures.
