EMEA Commercial Counsel — Scale & Strategy

Job summary

Axon is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel in Amsterdam to support global sales with complex commercial contracts, including SaaS and hardware. You will draft, review and negotiate agreements, advise on risk, and help scale our contracting processes while collaborating with Sales, IT, Product and Legal teams.

You will report to the Deputy General Counsel and operate primarily in a fast-paced, in-office setting 4x per week in Amsterdam, with travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts.
• Ability to structure, draft, and negotiate a high volume of contracts including SaaS, hardware and services.
• Knowledge of procurement laws and process in EMEA, primarily UK and EU.
• Must be located on the east coast.
• Knowledge and experience negotiating framework agreements.
• Ability to act with urgency on all requests.
• Pass-first attitude with a desire to train and mentor others.
• Experience supporting large and dynamic organizations.
• Passion for process and organization.
• J.D. and bar membership in good standing (US state or UK/EU).
• Experience designing, implementing, and administering contract lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the EMEA region sales teams with potential expansion to other regions.
• Provide legal advice on transactional matters related to sale of Axon’s products and SaaS.
• Structure, review, and negotiate contracts for goods, services and SaaS solutions.
• Offer options and risk analyses to business partners during contract negotiations.
• Supervise Contracts Managers and enforce risk levels.
• Lead and evolve legal contracting processes and templates.
• Support contract lifecycle management system development and implementation.
• Collaborate with attorneys and administrators to mentor others.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
