Job summary

Haskoning is offering a coastal engineering graduation internship focused on Toe stability for Xblocs. The candidate will perform 2D physical model tests in a wave flume and compare results with literature, under supervision from both academic and industry partners.

You will spend multiple weeks in Gouda, with opportunities to work from Delft/Amersfoort/Rotterdam offices, and enjoy hybrid working conditions and mentorship throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Master’s programme in Hydraulic Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Able to spend multiple weeks in Gouda conducting the physical model tests.
• Able to work regularly from the offices in Delft and/or Amersfoort and/or Rotterdam.

Responsibilities

• Conduct 2D physical model tests on toe stability of Xbloc armour using a wave flume.
• Analyze and compare results with literature and empirical formulas to derive engineering insights.
• Investigate influence of toe level reduction and toe width increase on stability.
