Job summary

VAT is seeking a skilled CNC Technician – Turning to independently manufacture precision components on CNC turning machines at our Den Haag site. You will set up, program with Siemens ShopTurn and Fanuc controls, and ensure parts meet tight tolerances while optimizing cycle times.

You will read technical drawings, select and change tools, and perform quality inspections. A polymechanic/CNC apprenticeship plus several years of turning experience is preferred; shift work is expected.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship in polymechanics or CNC machining.
• Several years of CNC turning experience is advantageous.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with Siemens ShopTurn and/or Fanuc controls.
• Knowledge of programming, setup and optimization of CNC turning machines.
• Proficient use of measuring and inspection equipment.
• Independent, precise, reliable work style with strong quality focus.
• Team-oriented with flexibility for shift work.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, operate, and monitor CNC turning machines.
• Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Siemens ShopTurn and/or Fanuc controls.
• Manufacture parts and small to medium production batches from drawings.
• Select, prepare, and change tools and workholding devices.
• Monitor processes for dimensional and tolerances compliance.
• Perform quality inspections using standard measuring equipment.
• Run new programs and optimize machining processes for quality and cycle time.
• Maintain and care for machines; troubleshoot minor malfunctions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and delivery standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and workflows.
