CNC Machine Operator I – The Gund Company

Overview

Department: Composites | Shift: 1st | Wage: $20.00–$24.00 per hour | Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment including presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion, and shape machines for thermoset composite materials.
• Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets and perform trim, file, and de‑flash operations on molded sheet edges.
• Select and install machine components (dies, spacers, shims, stops) according to specifications.
• Set up tooling, load programs, and adjust machine parameters for optimal performance.
• Clean dies and molds using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads, or air hoses.
• Conduct in‑process measurements and material inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with relevant hands‑on, vocational, or job‑related coursework or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, preferably with mixing, batching, or compounding equipment.

Work Environment

• Non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required.
• Repetitive tasks involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
