Job summary

ING is seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer in Rotterdam to lead the migration of on-prem networks and firewalls to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP). You will design, implement, and optimize network and security solutions with a focus on firewall management and cloud connectivity.

You will configure Fortinet or Palo Alto firewalls, automate processes with Ansible/Terraform, and collaborate with security teams to ensure a secure, compliant cloud environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT or a related field.
• Certifications or proven experience with Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco, Infoblox, F5 GTM and LTM.
• Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
• Proficiency in scripting languages: Ruby, Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with a proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of networks and firewalls to a cloud environment (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Configure and manage firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar).
• Optimize network infrastructure, including routing, switching, and VPNs.
• Automate network processes where possible (e.g., Ansible or Terraform).
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure a secure and compliant cloud environment.
• Troubleshoot complex network and security-related issues.
