Job summary

Salt in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced AWS Network Engineer to join the Cloud Networking team. This 12-month, hybrid role focuses on designing, building and operating large-scale AWS networking and cloud security infrastructure to support production environments.

You will work with platform, security and engineering teams to implement VPCs, Transit Gateway, Gateway Load Balancer, VPNs, and firewall platforms (Fortinet/Cisco/Check Point).

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on AWS networking experience, including design, deployment, operations, and troubleshooting.
• Deep knowledge of: Transit Gateway, Gateway Load Balancer, Routing and Connectivity, VPN Solutions.
• Experience managing cloud firewall solutions in AWS.
• Practical firewall experience with Fortinet, Cisco, Check Point.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management capabilities.
• Python scripting and automation experience (3+ years preferred).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, operate, and troubleshoot AWS networking environments.
• Manage and optimize AWS networking services, including VPCs, Transit Gateway, and Gateway Load Balancer.
• Configure routing, NAT gateways, and VPN connectivity.
• Own and operate cloud firewall infrastructure and policies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable networking solutions.
• Investigate and resolve complex network and security incidents.
• Support transition and ownership of existing AWS firewall deployments.
• Contribute to network automation using Python and Infrastructure as Code.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and procedures.

My client is looking for an experienced AWS Network Engineer to join their Cloud Networking team and play a key role in managing and evolving large-scale AWS networking and cloud security infrastructure.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on AWS networking, firewall management, troubleshooting, automation, and operational excellence. You will work closely with platform, security, and engineering teams to design, build, and operate resilient cloud network solutions supporting critical production environments.
