Job summary

Pharming is seeking a proactive intern to support climate risk identification, assessment, and management across operations and the supply chain. The role aligns with frameworks like TCFD and prepares for future climate scenarios, contributing to the company’s long-term resilience strategy.

You will assist in risk assessments, map vulnerabilities, and help develop adaptation measures while collaborating with internal teams to gather data and produce visualizations and reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Climate Policy, Sustainability, Risk Management, or related field.
• Familiarity with climate risk frameworks (e.g., TCFD, IPCC), climate modeling, and ESG reporting.
• Strong analytical and research skills; experience with GIS or climate data tools is a plus.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Interest in climate adaptation, resilience planning, and corporate sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in conducting climate risk assessments, including physical risks (e.g., flooding, heatwaves) and transition risks (e.g., regulatory changes, carbon pricing).
• Support scenario analysis using climate models and socio-economic pathways (e.g., IPCC SSPs, RCPs).
• Help map vulnerabilities across assets, operations, and supply chains
• Contribute to the development of resilience strategies, including adaptation measures and business continuity planning.
• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, finance, procurement) to gather data and align risk mitigation efforts.
• Providing a view as to the physical and transition risks, their identification and severity/likelihood assessment
• Prepare visualizations, dashboards, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
