Job summary

East Carolina University Graduate School is seeking several motivated and professional office assistants to support the Graduate School’s Welcome Desk. The Work-Study Student Assistant serves as the first point of contact for visitors at the Mendenhall Welcome Desk, providing accurate information, directions, and general assistance to students, staff, and guests, ensuring a welcoming and helpful environment within the facility.

GPA minimum 2.0 required.

Responsibilities

• Greet all visitors in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
• Provide directions and general information about Mendenhall Student Center, campus offices, events, and services.
• Assist guests in navigating the building and campus.
• Answer basic questions in person, by phone, or via email (if applicable).
• Monitor the Welcome Desk area to ensure a clean, organized, and presentable space.
• Report any issues, concerns, or unusual activity to a supervisor.
• Support basic administrative or front desk tasks as assigned.
