Job description

Tournament Software is the global market leader in racket sports technology: the platform behind tournaments, competitions, rankings and real-time scores for tennis, padel and badminton worldwide. Sports federations, clubs and players in more than 160 countries rely on our technology every day.

From our office in Alkmaar, a team of around 30 people builds the technology that keeps the global racket sports community connected. We have been growing by more than 15% a year, and the next phase of our international expansion is already underway.

What you’ll work on

The project has been in development for three years and is now entering a new growth phase. There are legacy components and opportunities to strengthen engineering best practices, so the work is challenging and offers plenty of room to make a real impact.

You’ll work across backend functionality, SQL data access and React. The role combines building new features, improving existing functionality and solving complex bugs in a production environment.

A major part of the job is understanding how things currently work, tracing issues through code and data, and making safe, maintainable improvements. You’ll own your work end to end: from understanding the problem to delivering it in production. “Done” means customers can use it reliably and genuinely benefit from it.

The environment

The codebase contains 30 years of domain knowledge, built by people who understand racket sports inside out.

Yes, there is legacy, and yes, there is room to modernise. But that is exactly where the opportunity lies. You’ll work on systems that support around 40,000 tournaments a year, alongside a team with the ambition and backing to improve them properly.

If you enjoy making complex systems cleaner, faster and more reliable—and seeing that work make a difference to real users—this is a genuinely interesting place to be.

About you

We are looking for a mid-to-senior full-stack engineer, ideally with a slight backend focus. The platform was originally built for one anchor client and is now scaling to support multiple customers across different markets, bringing higher volumes, greater variety and exciting technical challenges.

  • Solid experience with C#, .NET, React and SQL—non-negotiable
  • A track record of shipping features to production
  • Comfortable working in a large, long-lived codebase
  • You think in problems and outcomes, not just tickets
  • Able to commute to Alkmaar three days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, ideally within roughly 40 minutes
  • Nice to have: SQL Server experience and an affinity with racket sports
How we work

Our values shape how we build products and work together:

  • We put our customers first: we listen, take ownership and go the extra mile to create a great experience.
  • We strive to be experts: we stay curious, embrace innovation and continuously improve.
  • We care for our team: we support each other, celebrate wins and create an inclusive environment where people enjoy working.
  • We aim to win: we are ambitious, take ownership and enjoy getting things done.
Why work at Tournament Software?
  • Your code supports federations and tournaments in more than 160 countries—the impact is real and the scale is global
  • You’ll collaborate directly with international sports organisations across four continents
  • The product and the community you are building for are genuinely unique
  • There is real room to grow in seniority and develop your own approach
  • Competitive employment conditions, including pension contribution of approximately 2.5% and a travel allowance
  • The option to work between 28 and 40 hours per week
