Altura is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to own the architecture and scalability of our tender-spots platform and data ingestion. You’ll shape the integration strategy and drive end-to-end delivery with agentic software development practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive backend experience with .NET and C#.
• Experience building web scrapers and third-party integrations.

• Strong DB skills (SQL; NoSQL is a plus).

TL;DR - Your Role as Senior Backend Engineer

In this role, you’ll own the architecture and scalability of Altura’s tender spotting platform and data ingestion that powers it, as well as the technical design of our entire integrations strategy. It’s more than just coding, it’s about end-to-end ownership. You’ll lead the initiative and use agentic software-development practices, such as spec-driven development.

You will:

• Design, build, and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and external data sources, including web scrapers and data ingestion pipelines that underpin everything else in the product.

• Drive collaborative architectural and system level design decisions.

• Design and develop backend services and APIs to support scalable, reliable systems.

• Optimize application performance and ensure system reliability as we scale.

• Rely on and evolve our best practices for CI/CD, observability, security, etc.

• Evaluate new technologies to keep our stack on the cutting-edge of innovation.

What You Bring to the Table:

We’re looking for someone who is not just technically excellent but also thrives in collaborative dynamic, fast-paced environments.

You’ll need:

• Demonstrable and extensive experience in backend development with expertise in .NET and C#.

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining web scrapers and third-party integrations.

  • You know how to work with external APIs, handle flaky data sources gracefully, and build ingestion pipelines that are resilient by design.

• A strong experience in cloud native applications (Azure preferred), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.

• Agentic software development (e.g. Spec Driven Development) is your default way of developing software. That means you barely write code yourself, but you reject vibe-coding with every fiber of your soul.

• A solid background in database technologies (SQL is a must, NoSQL is a nice to have).

• Strong commitment to quality, scalability and security.

• Experience with Domain Driven Design and Clean Architecture.

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex technical challenges.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to thrive in a team-focused environment.
