Job description

About Maersk E-Commerce

At Maersk, we're transforming the future of commerce through fully integrated logistics. Our e-commerce solutions connect fulfilment, parcel delivery, transportation and supply chain services into a seamless end-to-end offering, helping customers simplify complexity and accelerate growth. As online retail continues to evolve, Maersk is investing in innovative logistics solutions that enable businesses to reach customers faster, more efficiently and with greater reliability across Europe and beyond.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the commercial growth of Maersk's e-commerce business across Benelux and the Nordic region. As Business Development Manager, you will be the bridge between product, sales and customers, transforming market opportunities into long-term commercial success. You'll help shape how our e-commerce proposition is positioned in the market, support strategic customer engagements, and guide opportunities from initial qualification through to go-live and revenue realisation. Working across multiple countries and stakeholders, you'll combine commercial acumen, solution selling and relationship-building skills to drive growth in one of the most exciting areas of integrated logistics.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with regional and country sales teams to drive understanding and adoption of Maersk's e-commerce offering. Develop compelling value propositions, customer use cases and sales enablement materials. Identify, qualify and develop new commercial opportunities across Benelux and the Nordics. Build and manage a high-quality pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting and opportunity tracking. Participate in customer meetings, discovery workshops, tenders and commercial negotiations. Provide market intelligence, customer insights and competitive analysis to support growth initiatives. Work closely with Product, Pricing, Finance and Commercial Strategy teams to support successful opportunity conversion. Monitor contracted opportunities and ensure expected volumes convert into realised business. Support customer implementations, onboarding activities and go-live readiness. Maintain visibility of pipeline value, contracted volume, revenue and gross profit performance. Identify opportunities to expand customer relationships and increase share of wallet.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in business development, commercial strategy, consultative sales or customer acquisition. Strong understanding of e-commerce, parcel logistics, last-mile delivery or a comparable service-based industry. Demonstrated success in building pipelines and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue growth. Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing communication skills. Commercially astute with a strong understanding of pricing, margin, revenue and profitability drivers. Experience working across multiple countries and managing geographically dispersed stakeholders. Comfortable operating in a matrix organisation and collaborating across Sales, Product, Operations and Customer Experience functions. Strong analytical and forecasting capabilities, with a structured approach to pipeline management. Ability to own opportunities end-to-end, from initial customer engagement through implementation and volume ramp-up. Existing knowledge and network within the European parcel, e-commerce or logistics market would be highly advantageous. French language skills are highly desirable.
