Agilent Technologies Netherlands BV in Middelburg is offering a Life Science Business Development Intern position for a 9-month placement. This hybrid role blends office work with remote activities and potential wet-lab involvement as part of the hybrid setup.

You will support field sales and marketing, gain hands-on experience in business development, market analysis, and customer communications while building a network across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing at least a second-year Life Science degree.
• Suitable fields include Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical sciences.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English and ability to interact with internal/external partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop business with new and existing clients (no cold calling).
• Analyze market data to support business generation.
• Respond to inbound customer inquiries via email and webchat.
• Support Netherlands sales managers with forecasting, tracking and reporting.
• Prepare customer proposals, tender responses and quotations.
• Assist with organization of local/international events and marketing campaigns.
• Create marketing material and newsletters; build internal/external networks.

Join Agilent Technologies’ Netherlands instrument sales team to gain sales and marketing experience within a fast-paced and exciting environment. You will develop real world business development experience in a market-leading company. During this internship based from our Middelburg office, with remote working and potential wet-lab activities as part of the hybrid setup, you will spend time working closely with and supporting the field sales and marketing teams in day-to-day matters related to Agilent’s Cell Analysis and Molecular Biology Research products. Communicating with these teams and our customers will allow you to learn quickly and work effectively within a commercial setting.

As our Business Development Intern, your work will consist of:

• Developing business with both new and existing clients (no cold calling)
• Analysing market data to support business generation

You will be a full-time employee and valued member of the team, working on strategic projects and contributing to day-to-day operations to be part of Agilent’s success. During your internship, you will interact with peers and team members regularly within the Netherlands and European Sales teams. Qualifications

The placement is expected to start on 1 September 2026 and will last for 9 months. It is a full-time hybrid role, combining work from our Middelburg office, remote working, and potentially some wet-lab work.

We are seeking a motivated individual with the following background:

• Currently completing at least a second year of a Life Science degree.
• Suitable degrees include (but are not limited to) Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical sciences.
• Motivated and strong desire to develop your commercial knowledge whilst gaining experience in a technical role
• Digital literacy, good knowledge of Microsoft Office - especially Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
• Full fluency in English
• You should be autonomous, organized and eager to learn.
• You also need strong analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication, allowing you to interact with different internal and external partners.
• Accuracy and attention to detail are fundamental to be successful in performing all functions of this role.
