Job summary

Worldstream, a Dutch data center and IT infrastructure provider, seeks an ambitious Business Controller to connect finance with data and drive decision-making. You will analyze margins, costs, forecasts and capital investments, translating data into actionable insights and dashboards.

You will work closely with senior finance leaders and expand the financial infrastructure, leveraging AI to automate analyses and reporting while supporting strategic growth and data-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

• Execute business control projects focused on margin analysis, cost structures, investment decisions and strategic initiatives.
• Set up and improve the data structures and reporting flows that underpin financial steering and decision-making.
• Automate and optimise control processes using modern data and automation tools, in close collaboration with the Financial Controller, while further developing management and investor reporting.

In this newly created role, you will work closely with Senior Business Controller Olav Bakker and CFO Ernst Wiemans. The Finance team also consists of a Financial Controller and two administrative colleagues. You will work close to Worldstream’s strategy, growth plans and new projects, while also interacting regularly with Freshstream on analyses and business cases.

As Business Controller, you will work on a wide range of commercial and strategic topics. You will analyze margins, cost structures, forecasts and underlying business drivers, translating data into clear and actionable insights. You will also play an important role in CAPEX investments, such as the development and expansion of data centers. By assessing financial impact and expected returns, you will provide valuable input for key investment decisions.

You will translate data into clear management information and help develop dashboards, analyses and forecasting. This allows you to combine Finance, data and technology while directly contributing to Worldstream’s continued growth and professionalization.

At the same time, you will help further develop the Business Control framework. You will build dashboards, management and investment reporting and create greater transparency around business performance. Working with different systems and data sources, you will have the opportunity to use AI to further automate and professionalize analyses and reporting processes.

This role brings together Business Control, data and process optimization, giving you the opportunity to help build the financial infrastructure Worldstream needs for its next phase of growth.

• Completed Master’s degree in Business Economics, Finance, Accounting, Econometrics, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Approximately 3–5 years of relevant work experience, preferably within Transaction Services / Financial Due Diligence.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent numerical insight.
• Affinity with data, automation and technology, and enthusiasm for applying these within Finance.
• Experience with SQL and/or Python as a foundation for coding with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor is a distinct advantage
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.
• You work in a structured, project-based and independent manner, have a critical mindset and a natural drive to make processes smarter and more efficient.
