Job summary

Van Lanschot Kempen is seeking a Business Analyst for Investment Management Technology & Analytics (IMTA) to shape the target operating model for private markets. You will translate strategic questions into actionable requirements and work with DevOps, Operations, and Investment teams acrossPrivate Markets.

You will contribute to TOM design, analyze market practices, and drive improvements in reporting and data across the value chain.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
• Affinity for private markets / illiquid asset classes in investment management.
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear insights and solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

As a Business Analyst within Investment Management Technology & Analytics (IMTA) at Van Lanschot Kempen, you will contribute to shaping and implementing our future-proof operating model for private markets. You work on both conceptual design and concrete delivery, translating both strategic and operational questions into actionable solutions.

You will be part of the IT Product Owner team and work closely with various DevOps team, Operations and Investment teams involved in our Private Markets operations. This means working on many different project with different teams and stakeholders across the Investment Management domain.

As a Business Analyst, you will focus on various topics related to our target operating model (TOM) for private markets. You will help define how we organize processes, data, and systems - and translate this into clear requirements and improvements for our DevOps teams to work on. This role is instrumental in our strategic goal of enabling scalable growth in Private Markets for our Investment Management client base.

You will:

• Analyse and structure complex business questions around private markets and illiquid investments
• Execute research to understand market practices and available solutions and how they compare to our internal solutions.
• Translate business needs into clear functional requirements and user stories.
• Contribute to the design and refinement of the target operating model (TOM), as part of a major ongoing migration project.
• Work on downstream capabilities such as client- and fund reporting, and oversee impact throughout the value chain.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops to align stakeholders on solutions
• Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to ensure effective implementation
• Ensure consistency across the end-to-end operating model and supporting processes

Your talents

You are analytical, structured, take ownership and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.

You also bring:

• 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst or similar role
• Relevant experience with or strong affinity for private markets / illiquid asset classes, particularly in the investment management space (e.g. private equity, real estate, infrastructure).
• Ability to translate complex topics into clear insights and solutions
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working in an Agile / DevOps environment is a plus
• A proactive, hands-on mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo
• Strong command of English (Dutch is a plus)
