Business Analyst Paper Sales & Supply Chain

The Sales & Supply Chain team at Smurfit Westrock (SW), Paper Division, is responsible for developing, growing, and managing SW’s sales with both internal and external customers. We are currently seeking a dynamic, analytical, self-motivated, diligent, and ambitious individual to join our multi‑national team in Amsterdam as a Business Analyst, reporting to the Continuous Improvement Leader.
This role involves supporting the analysis and implementation of new reports, procedures, and business solution tools across the sales & supply chain organization. The goal is to deliver synthesized information that assists senior management in making strategic and operational decisions.
This position facilitates understanding the business from a strategic perspective and serves as a stepping stone within the organization, with the expectation that the individual will transition to another role within the team or the broader SW organization after 2‑3 years in the Business Analyst role.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Provide periodic and ad‑hoc analysis on consumption, sales, and supply/demand dynamics.
- Data Management: Collect, analyse, and present data for precise reporting of supply chain and sales KPIs (sales, consumption, prices, contribution, etc.).
- Budgeting: Prepare and maintain the financial/operational budget for the following year and provide detailed analysis of deviations, under the supervision of the VP of Sales & Supply Chain. Project‑Based Execution: Assist in the development and implementation of business solutions for sales and supply chain optimisation.
- Automating Tasks: Find ways to streamline repeatable tasks/reports using PowerBI, SAP BI, and other MS Office tools.
Role Qualifications
- Business or Engineering degree
- Good financial understanding and business acumen
- Fast learner with ability to spot, track and implement improvements constantly
- Ability to take initiatives and collaborate with a wide stakeholder base
- Team player with ability to work across functions and in a multinational environment
- Strong analytical, communication and experience in data analysis tools
- Genuine interest in developing a career within an industrial global business. Previous experience in the manufacturing industry would be a plus.
- Experience with or exposure to MS Office tools, PowerBI and/or SAP is an advantage
- Fluent English is a must; other European languages are an advantage
