Job summary

Ruby Hotels in Rotterdam seeks a friendly Front Desk Host to welcome guests, manage check-in and provide a warm, personal stay. You will support breakfast service, assist with guest inquiries, and coordinate with the team to ensure smooth operations.

Fluency in Dutch and English is required, and you should be comfortable with shift work. Join a Lean Luxury team located near Markt, with excellent transport links and a focus on personality and soul in hospitality.

Qualifications

• Ideally gained some experience in the hotel industry.
• Flexible and ready to work in shifts.
• Reliability in counting, multitasking and willingness to learn.
• Empathetic with others and able to share enthusiasm with colleagues and guests.
• Great sense of humour, enjoys teamwork and interacting with guests.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for guests and ensure they feel at home from arrival to departure.
• Assist guests with self-check-in and support front desk operations.
• Prepare breakfastservice support and assist in barista tasks as needed.
• Share insider tips on local hotspots and city experiences.

With 225 rooms, she rises in Galshaven, just southwest of the city centre, putting Rotterdam’s historic heart, the iconic Market Hall and excellent transport connections within easy reach – while the skyline around you proves one thing: the future is now.

We are a fast-growing hospitality group with existing hotels and workspaces in some of Europe’s most exciting locations and many more projects under construction. We break new ground with our Lean Luxury philosophy , creating a contemporary and affordable form of luxury.

The role is set to start in September, just in time for the opening of our hotel in October. First interviews are planned for the middle of August, and those invited to our first audition will hear from us separately.

We’ve been waiting for you, since you have/are:

• ideally gained some experience in the hotel industry, don’t worry if you don’t know what “mise-en-place” means yet
• flexible and ready to work in shifts
• counting reliability, multitasking and your willingness to learn among your strengths
• empathetic with others and love sharing your enthusiasm with those around you
• a great sense of humour, enjoy working in a team, and love interacting with our guests
• speaking fluent Dutch and English
