Job summary

The International French School of Amsterdam (IFS Amsterdam) seeks an experienced Primary Homeroom English Teacher to join our bilingual team. You will deliver engaging English lessons, support pupils academically and pastorally, and participate in coordinating activities within the primary section.

The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to curriculum development in a fully bilingual French-English environment and to take on leadership responsibilities as the school grows.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with significant experience in primary education.
• Native or near-native level of English.
• Demonstrated capacity or strong interest in coordination or leadership roles.
• Experience in international and/or bilingual settings is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in English for primary students.
• Act as a homeroom teacher, supporting both the academic and pastoral development of pupils.
• Work collaboratively within a fully bilingual (French-English) environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and pedagogical alignment.
• Take on coordination responsibilities (depending on experience and profile).
• Engage with the wider school community and contribute to school life.
