Job summary

The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is seeking a Food & Beverage Intern to join our dynamic F&B team in Amsterdam. This role offers exposure to restaurant, bar and events operations within a Marriott International property and a vibrant, international workplace.

You will support daily service, guest interactions, mise en place, menu knowledge and wine service. We offer a trainee allowance, development opportunities and a friendly team culture.

Qualifications

• Must be a student and have an internship agreement from school.
• Available for 5 to 10 months.
• Fluent in English; Dutch preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily restaurant and bar operations across outlets.
• Welcome and serve guests with a smile and anticipation of needs.
• Support mise en place and operational preparations.
• Learn menu knowledge, wine service and upselling techniques.
• Contribute to memorable guest experiences and events.

What are my responsibilities?

As a Food & Beverage Intern, you will support our F&B team in delivering exceptional service across our outlets, including restaurant, bar, and events.

Your responsibilities include:

• Assisting with daily restaurant and bar operations; Janine Restaurant & Bakery, Specht Lobby bar, Koepelcafe, CIMA rooftop bar
• Welcoming and serving guests with a smile, looking for guest cues to anticipate guest needs
• Supporting mise en place and operational preparations
• Learning about menu knowledge, wine service, and upselling techniques
• Contributing to memorable guest experiences
• Supporting meetings, events, and banqueting operations

What makes you the perfect fit?

• You have strong communication skills.
• You are able to communicate fluently in English and preferably Dutch.
• You love to work with food and beverages in a hotel and it’s your passion to create unique and personalized experiences.
• You are flexible and can work various shifts (morning, evening, weekends).
• You are available for 5 to 10 months.
