Job summary

Lemonade is seeking an experienced backend architect to design and implement core rating services for insurance pricing. You will craft scalable systems in TypeScript, Rust, and Python while leading architectural decisions.

You will build AI-powered research pipelines for actuaries, create reusable SDKs, and optimize latency-critical components used by millions of customers. Office-based Amsterdam presence is expected most days.

Qualifications

• Strong system design experience and architectural decision-making.
• Proficient in backend languages with ability to quickly learn new ones.
• Experience building performance-optimized systems where latency matters.
• Track record designing complex technical systems from scratch, including interfaces and abstractions.
• Educational degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Ready to work in an office environment most days of the week.
• Enthusiasm about learning and adapting to AI.
