Job summary

Sendcloud Eindhoven is seeking a Medior Backend Engineer to help power our platform. You’ll work on core systems, integrating carriers and online stores into a fast, scalable platform used by merchants across Europe.

We release early and often, with high test coverage and a culture focused on reliability, performance, and developer happiness. Expect a hybrid model with 1+ days in the office and collaboration across multi-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience with Python and frameworks such as FastAPI or Django.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs in production.
• Ability to independently plan, estimate, break down and deliver medium-sized features from development through to production.
• Experience building reliable and maintainable software with testing, monitoring, and error handling.
• Experience with distributed systems focusing on scalability, performance and reliability.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and turn requirements into simple, maintainable solutions.
• Comfortable working with Linux and the command line.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and at least one major cloud platform (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Responsibilities

• Impact & Direction: Contribute to your team's technical roadmap and short-term goals, breaking them down into concrete deliverables.
• Delivery & Execution: Plan, estimate, and break down features to ship on time with high-quality, well-tested code.
• Ownership & Reliability: Own problems from development to production and monitor for operational issues.
• System Design & Architecture: Contribute to design within your team for maintainable solutions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Product, Design, DevOps, QA and other teams.
• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor juniors and contribute to code reviews and documentation.
