Sendcloud in Eindhoven HQ (Hybrid) is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead scalable Python systems, shape technical direction, mentor engineers, and help 30,000+ businesses ship smarter.

You will join one of our 15+ cross-functional teams, working on core services that integrate carriers and stores, with fast releases, high test coverage, and a focus on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Python development with FastAPI or Django
• Extensive experience building REST APIs
• Led large, complex projects with ambiguous requirements
• Built distributed, event-driven services with APIs
• Strong PostgreSQL data modeling and query optimization
• Proficient with Linux and command line
• Experience with Docker, AWS/Azure, or GCP
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities

• Shape the technical roadmap for multi-phase projects
• Scope, plan, and estimate large features with multiple engineers
• Own code to production and keep systems reliable and scalable
• Break down complex problems into well-designed components and ADRs
• Design and implement distributed, event-driven systems and APIs
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar
• Collaborate with Product, Design, DevOps and QA to manage risk and communicate technical risk clearly
