Job summary

agap2 Netherlands seeks a Data Platform Engineer to join our international team with a local Dutch focus. You will help build, operate and scale our Azure-based platform across multiple industries, sharing knowledge and continuously learning new technologies.

You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with data and product teams to deliver reliable, secure, and self-service capabilities while evolving toward a Europe-wide and global platform.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Software/DevOps/Platform Engineer or similar; hands-on ownership of production systems.
• 3+ years hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform; building reusable modules across environments.
• Strong Python development skills with typed, well-tested, maintainable automation and REST API usage.
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure, including networking, storage, IAM/RBAC and Entra ID.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline engineering, e.g., GitHub Actions; designing reusable pipelines for Linux runners.
• Generalist mindset; willingness to work across infra, automation, CI/CD, reliability and security.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate our Azure platform at scale.
• Design and maintain CI/CD workflows and Linux-based tooling.
• Drive innovation across architecture, reliability, and security.
• Manage infrastructure using a GitOps approach; version, review, reproduce, and audit changes.
• Enable engineers and stakeholders with guardrails, docs, and guidance on safe platform use.
• Improve platform scalability and resilience to support Europe-wide and global users.
• Own production systems with emphasis on reliability and operational excellence.
• Work as a generalist across infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD.
