Job summary

ABN AMRO Bank N.V. is seeking a Senior Azure Data & DevOps Engineer to shape scalable data platforms for Non-Financial Risk.

You will lead design, development, and optimisation of data pipelines on Azure, combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership to standardise DevOps and Data Engineering practices across multiple teams. You will collaborate in an international DevOps setup, working within Scrum sprints and a hybrid model at our Amsterdam-area office twice per week.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and large-scale data integration.
• Proficient in Python and PySpark for data processing.
• Hands-on with Azure Databricks and modern cloud data platforms.
• Designing and optimising ETL/ELT pipelines for reliability.
• Experience with data streaming, transformation, and monitoring.
• Solid experience with SQL Server and T-SQL.
• Proven CI/CD and release automation with Azure DevOps.
• IaC using Bicep and/or ARM templates.
• Knowledge of Azure security, governance, and networking.
• Experience with authentication using OpenID Connect / SAML.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines on Microsoft Azure.
• Build data processing workflows using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Python, PySpark.
• Support data streams for Market Abuse Monitoring and risk processes.
• Drive standardisation of Azure DevOps pipelines and deployment practices.
• Improve CI/CD processes for reliability, security, and speed.
• Define technical standards for Azure engineering and data development.
• Coach teams in DataOps, DevOps, and cloud engineering principles.
• Identify improvement opportunities and drive implementation.
