Job summary

SITA is seeking a Technical Writer to join the Design and Engineering team in Rotterdam. You will develop and maintain clear technical documentation for self-service products used by passengers at airports worldwide, working closely with engineering, product, and regulatory teams to ensure safety and maintainability.

You will gather information from designs and BOMs, create installation and troubleshooting guides, and produce diagrams and instructional videos to support product lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical writing or engineering documentation for products or services.
• Ability to translate complex engineering information into clear, structured content.
• Strong understanding of hardware, mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical products and procedures.
• Experience creating installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, repairs, or training content.
• Comfort working with engineering drawings, BOMs, prototypes, and specifications.
• Ability to create technical diagrams, illustrations, and instructional videos.
• Attention to technical accuracy, document control, and version management.
• Willingness to work hands-on with prototypes and evolving designs.
• Strong collaboration across engineering, product, manufacturing, and regulatory teams.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for installation, maintenance, and product service.
• Create procedures for installation, troubleshooting, upgrades, repairs, and retrofits.
• Produce diagrams, illustrations, and instructional videos to support training.
• Gather information from engineering designs, BOMs, prototypes, and SMEs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation.
• Validate instructions hands-on with prototypes or production units.
• Support documentation for regulatory approvals and product changes.
• Manage reviews, approvals, and version control of documents.
