Automation Engineer - Data Centre

Job summary

Vincere is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join a major data centre build in The Netherlands, supporting automation, controls and BMS systems within a mission-critical environment.

You will work with electrical, mechanical and commissioning teams to ensure integration and functionality of intelligent building systems across this high-tech facility. Fluent English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in automation or controls engineering.
• Knowledge of BMS, PLCs, SCADA, or DDC systems (e.g. Siemens, Honeywell, Trend, Schneider).
• Experience in data centres, pharma, industrial, or building automation projects.
• Familiar with networking, I/O wiring, protocols (Modbus, BACnet, TCP/IP).
• Able to read technical drawings, control panel schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus).
• Valid EU work permit or right to work in The Netherlands.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support automation, SCADA, and BMS systems across all project stages.
• Configure, test, and validate control systems (e.g. PLCs, DDC, Modbus, BACnet).
• Collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to ensure system performance.
• Review automation and control drawings, I/O schedules, and sequence of operations.
• Conduct FATs/SATs and handover documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration and network issues.
• Support client during handover and initial operations.
