QuantWare seeks a Quantum Measurement and Calibration Engineer – Automated Calibration to join the Calibration Software team. You will build scalable Python software for automated QPU bring-up, focusing on production-grade automation that pre-screens devices, calibrates single- and two-qubit gates, and performs continuous recalibration.

You’ll own software functionality from concept through validation and integration, collaborating with Software Engineers, Experimental Physicists, and Production

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with 2+ years of relevant industry experience in physics, quantum information, electrical engineering, or computer science.
• 2+ years hands-on cryogenic measurement of multi-qubit superconducting quantum processors, including 2-qubit gate calibration.
• Strong proficiency in Python for data acquisition, automation, or scientific pipelines; write modular, maintainable code.
• Working knowledge of software engineering best practices: OOD, Git, code reviews, testing frameworks.
• Strong automation mindset: reduce manual measurement overhead and improve software quality for hardware bring-up.
• Thrives in a multidisciplinary scale-up environment, bridging experimental physics with production software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop automated calibration software to rapidly characterize and calibrate large-scale QPUs (e.g., resonator spectroscopy, crosstalk matrices, single- and 2-qubit gates, readout optimization).
• Write, review and maintain modular Python code with automated testing (PyTest), CI/CD, documentation, and version control.
• Own software functionality from concept through validation, review, and integration.
• Collaborate closely with internal users in Processor Development and Production to gather needs and continuously improve features and calibration workflows.
