Job summary

QuantWare BV is seeking an Experimental Quantum Engineer - R&D to join our center of cryogenic measurement expertise. You will operate and advance cryostats and measurement setups, while developing Python-based automation for high-throughput characterisation of quantum devices.

Collaboration with Design, Fabrication, and Measurement teams is essential for driving reliable results. The role requires MSc-level physics/engineering, hands-on cryogenic operation experience, and a strong RF/mechanical

Qualifications

  • MSc in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (PhD a plus).
  • Hands-on low-temperature cryogenic operation and maintenance of cryogenic systems.
  • Strong microwave/RF measurement techniques for superconducting qubits.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and elevate cryogenic measurement infrastructure to stay state-of-the-art.
  • Build, refine, and automate Python-based routines for high-throughput device characterisation and hardware control.
  • Characterise novel R&D prototypes, analyse data, and troubleshoot with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Design and execute cryogenic reliability studies and scalable setups.
  • Document experiments, data pipelines, and reporting for knowledge sharing.
