As an Assistant Freight Forwarder, you are ready to push boundaries—literally and figuratively. Due to the growth of our Special Services department, we are looking for several new colleagues to strengthen the team. No two days are the same, and together you will deliver tailor‑made transport solutions that make a difference.

You get it done

As an Assistant Freight Forwarder, you support the team while learning the ins and outs of the business. You play a crucial role in the logistics process by helping to plan and coordinate shipments: you’re on it.

How you do this? We will teach you how to execute transports efficiently, both within Europe and beyond. For example, when organizing a shipment to the United Kingdom, you will not only help plan the outbound journey but also think about smart return solutions, combining multiple pick‑ups to maximize efficiency and profitability.

At the same time, you will build a strong network, both within DSV through close collaboration with colleagues from Customer Service, Freight Forwarding and Fleet Operations, and externally through partnerships with customers and carriers. You achieve this by:

• supporting the planning of shipments for our own trailer fleet, optimizing routes, minimizing mileage and maximizing vehicle utilization;
• proactively communicating with and informing customers, partners and drivers;
• monitoring shipments and identifying irregularities relating to loading, unloading and delivery activities.

You bring

• some knowledge of transport or a degree in logistics is a plus; if not, we are happy to teach you the trade;
• willingness to participate in an on‑call schedule a few weekends per year, as our drivers also operate during weekends, for example to the United Kingdom. Of course, this comes with an attractive allowance;
• a good command of both Dutch and English. Do you also speak some German? That’s a definite advantage.
