Job summary

AKQA Amsterdam is seeking an Associate Creative Director (Art/Design) to inspire and lead a team across CGI, motion design, and interactive media. You will direct CGI artists, push cinematic storytelling, and ensure visually striking concepts that align with client strategy.

Reporting to the Creative Director, you’ll collaborate with studio leads to deliver high-caliber work, explore AI-assisted workflows, and maintain the highest standards of craft and innovation in a hybrid Amsterdam studio.

Qualifications

• Proven experience at Associate Creative Director level or similar leadership role.
• Track record of award-winning work across European and global markets.
• Strong art direction and motion graphics foundation.
• Hands-on craft in compositing, grading, and finishing.
• Experience with AI production using state-of-the-art models.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver award-winning work that meets client needs.
• Direct autonomous teams to cinematic vision and technical precision.
• Develop creative briefs and collaborate with clients and strategists.
• Guide CGI artists across animation, modeling, lighting, and compositing.
• Collaborate with design, UX, and development teams for integrated outputs.
• Present concepts confidently to global clients.
