Job summary

Carousel Logistics in Maastricht is seeking an Air Operations Manager (m/f/d) to lead export air freight activities and ensure smooth operations on the late shift. You will handle charter flights, documents, data checks and customs declarations in a dynamic logistics environment.

Qualifications

• Experience handling air freight shipments and charter flights.
• Completed commercial training; training in freight forwarding/logistics is desirable.
• Proficiency in MS Office 365 and transport management systems.
• Structured and independent working style, including when working from home.
• Assertiveness, teamwork and enthusiasm.
• Very good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Processing export air freight shipments and preparing shipping documents.
• Verifying shipment data, cargo acceptance and warehouse processes at the airport.
• Confirming export declarations and forwarding to customs.
• Acting as the day-to-day contact for dispatch queries.
• Ensuring compliance with air freight security regulations.
• Monitoring and supporting aircraft handling.
• Notifying colleagues abroad of shipments via AWB.
• Processing returns and import shipments.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing orders for export air freight shipments, including preparing all necessary shipping documents for our charter flights
• Verifying shipment data, cargo acceptance and warehouse processes at the airport
• Confirming export declaration details and forwarding them to customs
• Acting as the point of contact for customers in day-to-day business regarding dispatch queries
• Ensuring compliance with air freight security regulations
• Monitoring and supporting aircraft handling

Your Profile

• Professional experience in the handling of air freight shipments and charter flights
• Completed commercial training; training in freight forwarding/logistics is desirable
• Additional qualification in customs or professional experience in customs clearance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and transport management systems
• Structured and independent working style, including when working from home
• Assertiveness, team spirit and enthusiasm
• Very good written and spoken English
• High level of commitment, dedication and resilience
